How do I measure my visibility in AI search?
You measure it directly: ask the assistants the questions your customers ask — "best [service] in [city]", "[your brand] reviews", "[competitor] vs [you]" — and record whether you're mentioned, what's said, and which sources get cited. Repeated monthly, that's a visibility share you can trend.
Pair the survey with referral evidence: AI-sourced visitors appear in analytics (ChatGPT and Perplexity pass referrers), and their behavior differs — they arrive pre-sold by a summary, so track what they do, not just that they came.
The discipline matters more than the tooling: same questions, same cadence, tracked over time — otherwise you're reacting to anecdotes about a channel you can't see.
