How many pages should a small business website have?
Enough that every service you sell and every area you serve has its own real page — for most small businesses that lands between roughly five and twenty pages, not one long homepage and not fifty thin ones.
The logic is search intent: someone looking for "drain cleaning" should land on a drain cleaning page, not a services list with nine offerings. One page per meaningful service, plus home, about, contact, and location pages where geography matters.
Quality gates the count: a page earns its slot by having substance — real details, real proof, a real next step. Ten strong pages outperform forty templated ones, in rankings and in AI answers alike.
